Some years ago, I used to go for walks around the edge of a field behind my office, as a way of getting some fresh air in my lunch hour. After a time, I found myself looking out for specific forms that define the boundary, that I began to know quite well. In taking photographs, my aim was to deliberate different arrangements of forms within the viewfinder and, where possible, to adopt them within the composition as a way of extending views into the distances beyond.
